October Electronic Drawing Jam

October saw many of the Drawing Jam crew dispersed: Nic had just got back that day from the Northern Territory, I was on King Island, Jared was in Africa. So we cancelled the meet up and I proposed a digital drawing correspondence, and set the task of drawing something related to evening meal for the night of October 15th. Below are the results from Chay-Ya Clancy (in Berlin), her friend Adelaide Rief (Melbourne), and myself.

Adelaide Rief - It is not you that bends

Chay-Ya Clancy - Beetroots from the market near the Canal.

Sarah Howell - Sunset on the West Coast of King Island accompanied by trombone.

Back at the house Emma and Gavin cook chicken noodle soup.

Drawing Jam @ The Perpetual Party Collective

September's Drawing Jam took place amongst the growing cardboard walls of the Perpetual Party Collective's bump-in at Arts Alive. Matt and Themis very kindly let us use one of the cardboard rooms in the labyrinth; it glowed with the light of the data projector.

Casting coloured shadows and insulated from the world we had our best night yet.

Photos from the July Drawing Jam

The first drawing jam was full of wonderfulness, oranges, subtle confusion and excitement.
The sense of adventure was running rife in the air and it was intriguing to be apart of something that moved and changed. It is so fun to draw with other people in the room!
This jam will be a regular event at Arts Alive in Launceston. In fact the second has already happened and the third will be soon.

These photos are only a subjective view of what happened through the lens of my particular camera. To see the rest of the photos I took, please click on this album:
Drawing night July

Zine from the first drawing night is coming soon. Edited by guest editor Chay-Ya Clancy (me).
The zine from the second drawing night is also in progress, edited by guest editor Jared Irwin. If you would like to sign up to the mailing list to receive zines and information on the gravity project, please contact Sarah Howell

The Notebook Project

The Colors Notebook Project is something you would have surely heard about by now.
Here is some photos from the construction of my entry, its almost finished, and almost ready to post off. How is yours going? Have you started? Have you nearly finished? Send in any photos you have and we will post them up on this blog.

Black Box

The Black Box event presented by the Manic Productions Crew was over a month ago now. Here are some of the photos that I took whilst they were setting up the Installation and Performance event at Arts Alive, and whilst it was happening.
Being a drawer the definite highlights were "buying squares on the blank canvas to create in" and Nic drawing and writing over almost the entire venue with white chalk.
